By becoming a member you will learn about the National Arboretum Canberra project through the
quarterly newsletter, special events and special interest groups. You will be kept up to date with
development at the Arboretum and be able to share this knowledge with others in the community.
Past and Current Members can renew at any time. If your membership has not yet expired, renewing will extend your current membership. If you have any questions about your membership, please contact us.

The Friends' support the Arboretum in many ways such as volunteering in a range of activities. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Arboretum please be in touch with their Community Engagement Officer Lauren Brown on [email protected] or 6207 9347.
Receive training and provide guiding services at the Arboretum.
Assist visitors to learn about the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia.
Welcome visitors at special events.
Regular maintenance working bees occur bi-weekly.
Be involved with tree monitoring, Frogwatch, bird surveys or site history.
Manage harvesting at the Arboretum and develop products e.g. jams to be sold at the Arboretum shop.
Help with events like the Arboretum's Community Festival, Australian National Botanic Garden's Day, school holiday and seasonal events

The Friends currently provide annual memberships and also offer multiple year memberships. You'll receive an email reminder a few weeks before your membership falls due. If you need to check the status of your membership you can login to your account and view your Profile. If you have forgotten your username or password, these can be easily retrieved by clicking on the "Forgot your password?" link on the Login page To view your account, from the top menu, click on the “My Account" button. After you successfully login, you’ll enter the Members only area. To view your membership status, and/or update your details, click on My Account and then the My Profile section. You can check your details and change some personal information. If there is any information on this screen which is incorrect and you cannot change it, please contact our Secretary on [email protected]

Yes, the Friends issue numbered membership cards. Membership cards are sent to members when they purchase a membership.
An annual discounted parking pass is available in our online shop to members of the Friends. Each parking voucher is for one vehicle only and must only be displayed in the vehicle having the registration number displayed on the card. Please read the instructions on the reverse of the card. The Friends produce these parking vouchers on behalf of the ACT Government. All revenue from parking vouchers is forwarded to the Arboretum. Parking revenue generally is used for Arboretum projects.
