Friends of the National Arboretum Canberra, in association with the NAC and the Curatoreum, are pleased to announce an art exhibition, featuring artwork by Wiradjuri artist Duncan Tod Smith, OAM, founder of the Wiradjuri Echoes, his family group.
The display, entitled Scar Trees, features patterns from scar trees found in Wiradjuri Country in western NSW where Duncan was born. The artworks are primarily painted in ochre in traditional artistry and are quite exquisite.
The exhibition will be launched on Wednesday, 4 October at 2.00pm in the Village Centre by Jon Stanhope AM, Patron of the Arboretum.
Do take time to have a look at the wonderful paintings anytime between 22 September – 23 October. Individual artworks are available for sale through the Curatoreum.
